An organization of Kindergarten educators who are committed to the following goals:

To promote the value and importance of Kindergarten and the need for all children to attend.

To promote an understanding of how children develop and learn, physically, emotionally, socially, intellectually, and the need for developmentally appropriate programs.

To support the philosophy that each child is an individual and has an unique learning style.

To promote the need for appropriate programs that meet the diverse needs of the young children in our multi-cultural society.

To strongly support that the certification of Kindergarten teachers be more restrictive so that only teachers having specific training and practice in early childhood education be certified and eligible for employment to teach Kindergarten.

To encourage legislation that admission to Kindergarten be established state-wide at five years of age by September 1st.

To encourage legislation that supports the philosophy that the maximum enrollment of 20 children per teacher in one room be optimum for learning/teaching.

To maintain and further the high standards of the education of our young children in Kindergarten in New Jersey.

To strengthen communication with Kindergarten teachers regarding current trends and issues, thus keeping them appraised of the state of the art in educating our young children.

To promote and strengthen communication between teachers, administrators, parents, policy makers, legislators and others interested in early childhood education.
